Hello, all! Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for the delayed episodes (both "regular" and Patreon-only)... I really wanted to focus on typing this weekend, and while it was a very productive couple of days on that score it left me somewhat behind in other aspects of the project. But we're rolling again this week, and I definitely have no shortage of possible stories to perform (just not sure which ones I'm going to pick.) Stories from the week of 6/8/26 (and the finished one from 6/5/26) are as follows: 6/5/26: "Margot's Close Call" - A lady scheduled to testify against a dangerous mobster has been granted witness protection and

Hello All! Hope you're enjoying the spring-into-summer weather of it all. Here are the stories from the previous week. 6/1/26: "Mysterious Phoenix Lady" (Story #105): An old lady who doesn't like to make a fuss -- but makes an exception for Halloween -- picks an inauspicious year to make a big splash at the annual Grange costume party. There's a serial killer on the loose and tensions are running high. (This one is tonally all over the place, I'm afraid, but not as dark as one might think.) 6/2/26: "Swordfight Study #1" (Story #106): This is a bit of an experimental one; I wanted to see how the Solitaire Stories system works when appli Article June 6 $5 tier & up 0 0Patreon Exclusive #18: "DJ Big Flamingo at the Montez Arboretum" Locked

Hello, all! Here are the stories I wrote earlier this week. I don't have any particular favorites from this batch, though I think I did a better-than-average job with pacing on this most recent batch. I'm starting to get a bit better at the rhythm of the thing... trying to get to the central conflict of the story by the bottom of page one, and have the climax (such as it is) set up while there are still some cards to play, as it were. Still not perfect, but given the constraints of the project, that's at least partially by design. I would be happy to perform any of these -- following the slight revisions that ha Article May 27 $5 tier & up 0 0Patreon Exclusive #17: "The Psychic Susceptibility of Councilman Rick Prezko" Locked

I ended up in Virginia this weekend somewhat unexpectedly, and have only just now returned to my notebook and computer and deck of cards. I intend to get the next podcast episode out tomorrow, with the Patreon-only bonus episode (and an additional mid-month check-in post, of some sort) falling to later in the week. So consider this an update of the sort that I hope to normalize doing on Fridays going forward... just a couple of days late. With that in mind, here are the four stories from the preceding week. As I remarked earlier, I would love to get this number to five a week, but four a week isn't ba Article May 20 $5 tier & up 0 0Patreon Exclusive #16: "New Brocko Watch Party" Locked

New episode coming out tonight (or possibly tomorrow; I have a family obligation taking up much of the afternoon.) Bonus Patreon episode to follow a day or so later. As always, I am behind on all aspects of the practice (at least through the lens of the idealized version where I do this as a full time job: writing, editing, recording and releasing a new story/episode most every single day.) I would love to get this four-stories-a-day pace I've been recently mired in up to five-a-week by the end of May; my goal had been 150 stories by the end of June (to get on pace for 300 for the year), but unless I count the "backup" stories fro Image May 13 $5 tier & up 0 0March Fourth Update Hello All! Hello all! Apologies that this week's episode will be slightly delayed... I'm trying to get caught up on typing these, and it got a bit too late tonight to record. But the project continues! Recent stories as follows: 3/6/26: "The Plot Against Tony Mayfly" - An anti-mob vigilante who fancies himself something of a Batman gets badly distracted from his mission of vengeance by a fun fling enabled via his cover career as a D.J. Can his worried and disenchanted inner circle get him back on track? 3/9/26: "The View from the Terrace" - A young waiter with an axe to grind gets pulled into a gene Article March 17 $5 tier & up 1 1Patreon Exclusive #13: "The Shrieking of the Strider App" Locked

Greetings, all! I hope you're all staying warm and safe as we roll into February. Some updates as follows (apologies for the length; I'm using this platform as a journal of sorts, so a lot of this is mainly just for my records down the line): 1.) As of right now, I have completed 29 (well, more like 28.7) stories in the 31 days of January. Less than ideal given that finishing a story every day is, like, the main thing of this project, but even more important to me is its experimental nature. It would feel like a bad start to the year if I'm falsifying data. I feel okay about the 29 number, especially since the ten pl Article April 16 $5 tier & up 0 0End of January Update! Greetings, all! New Patreon-only episode -- tentatively titled "The View from the Terrace" , written 3/9/26 -- to drop tomorrow. Some recent stories: 3/22/26 - "Box with Air Holes": An underworld "runner" of illicit and/or secret packages is saddled with an unexpected housemate... and, shortly thereafter, an unusual (and delicate) package to deliver. He is also being harassed by a particular gang of toughs. Basically a fun little "watch the protagonist scramble" kind of deal... not sure if he learns anything or changes as a person, but to be fair he doesn't really have a lot of breathing room to do so. 3/23/26 - "Idealized Forest Story": A Article March 29 $5 tier & up 0 0
