August 8 View post Changed the shape of top of head, forehead, tearduct areas, cheeks and nose. The nose is much bigger but still needs shaping. Need more symmetry and some other stuff I can see but can't put into words yet. It was so hot/humid today the clay was almost too soft 🤣

Figure updateUpdate from last week. 3 weeks left on this one. I need to work faster, follow feelings more, and then correct stuff over measurong everything like three times.ArticleAugust 8Public 0 0Designing the pose day 5August 7 View post Here is what I got! Did all my legs and glute studies I wanted but still need to do more. Also need to work on feet and knees. Alicia did one foot and one knee and I copied them on other side. I need to memorize the construction though. I learned that bulking up arms on a woman can make her torso look slimmer and that helped match the model closer. You might notice on the portait photo a lot of dots on the face. The model was Ava, the model from Winter who I drew pastels of and she had all her piercings in so I tried to indicate them. I wish I had another two days to finish up like a week or two later after letting everything soak in. It is okay tArticleAugust 7Public 0 1LightingJust playing with how lighting affects shadows on planesArticleAugust 7Public 0 0Cinematic lighting/NoirAugust 7 View post Using high contrast natural lighting. The sculpture studio has excellent lighting in general but especially during certain parts of the day in certain spots. I added mass to her arms and stomach; plus softened her curves and narrowed her shoulders. Alicia's feedback and input really helped with fixing a bunchbof stuff from yesterday! This was before lunch. 3 more hours to goImageAugust 7Public 0 0Designing the Pose day 4August 7 View post I have worked on keeping the figure a bit taller than I normally do in order to make sure the legs are long enough. I have overcorrected though. I need to widen the hips a bit and also soften up the upper torso by giving the appearance of better fat and muacles while still showing how lean and slim the model is. My will mainly be on getting the pelvis and legs as accuratebas possible but still a bit stylized and then have the upper torso be accurate and connected but still very loose. I am posting this the morning of the last day so we will see how my goals turn out later.ArticleAugust 7Public 0 0Designing the Pose day 3August 5 View post Got a bunch done today. Was wicked tired and sort of spaced out until I took a nap in the library during lunch haha I'm hoping I do better tomorrow. Not that this isn't on a good path but it was slow going and I made some basic mistakes a few times. Anyway, you can start to see how it'll help with the Frazetta style mage painting.ImageAugust 5Public 0 02 2 Share Gift LockedNo public preview was captured for this post.Article3d ago$1 tier & up 0 2Designing Pose/LegsAugust 4 View post So I got to put my new mantra of the "tibia is 2 heads tall" in practice today and also added "the foot is 1 head long; 3/4 in front and 1/4 in back" into my long term memory. I also learned a funny saying about the knee cap looking like a smiley face. I will try to get a photo of thatImageAugust 4Public 0 0Designing the pose workshopDoing a workshop called Designing the Pose with Alicia Ponzio. I did part of one like this one 2 years ago but missed about half of it because I was sick. So I'm excited to complete this. We did a ton of small quick sketches and ended up choosing one that reminded me of a Frazetta pose and will be useful for my female mage painting and leg/glute studies. One leg forward and the other back plus head turned to the side! We got to vote on poses so I was very pro that particular one 🤓ImageAugust 3Public 0 2Rodin/Camille Claudelle studyHere is my version of this cast statue study. Still got a ways to go! Like the drawing I made of it in Spring the eyes are a bit too big and the face a bit too wide. Will fix stuff next week. This one is very subtly difficult! I am learning a lot from it though.ArticleAugust 1Public 0 5Skeleton in cool lightingAugust 1 View post Title says it allArticleAugust 1Public 0 1
