New review - Amaran Ray 660c (it's a beast)July 29 View post I've been looking forward to making this one. The Amaran Ray 660c looked almost too good to be true on paper, so I wanted to spend some proper time with it before deciding what I thought. It turns out it's a really interesting light. Not perfect, but there are a few things it does so well that it's made me rethink what I'd buy if I were starting to build out a lighting kit today. As always, thanks for making videos like this possible. It means a lot to have the freedom to take my time with reviews and come to my own conclusions, rather than rushing to get something out. Hope you enjoy it. I've started shooting weddings recently, which means I've suddenly found myself filming a lot more slow motion in some pretty challenging lighting conditions. After plenty of trial and error, I thought I'd share what actually works for me. I cover the settings and little tricks I rely on, including why I'm happy to push ISO, when to ignore the 180-degree shutter rule and why a bit of noise really isn't the end of the world. Hopefully it'll help if you ever find yourself trying to shoot high frame rates in the dark.
