I want to show how to maximize that time and set up the next longer session, starting with lighter glow... Creating the circuitry pattern for the plinth will happen in two stages, starting with sketching it out on a piece of board. This will allow me to have it to scale, and make needed adjustments. It was much easier to paint in the glowing patterns as I drew them onto the plinth first. I could even use the “to scale” sketch as a template to mark out where part of the pattern began.ArticleJuly 17Public 0 0More Marble!July 15 View post I will try a few marble types, each one requiring some variation on techniques from the previous session. I will do a more dry brush heavy technique on this plinth, using the blending brush. The black marble will have no inclusions, but instead have more fine veins running through it. This Breccia marble will be a bit closer to the green marble technique from the last episode, but the inclusions will be more varied, as will the color. These are so fine that you can’t see any mica flakes, they mix very easily too! I will try to get some of the non metallic areas covered before darkening the metal mixes by adding Payne’s grey, Mars Black, Van Dyke Brown, etc. This sets up the much lighter metals... The “inner details” such as the face and cloak freehand are a priority.
