Article June 7 Public 0 0Big Boy Well, a famous steam engine made a pass through my area and I decided to try capturing a specific comp. I used google earth to find a nearby bridge to shoot it crossing and a parallel bridge down river to shoot from. I got a couple shots, but the bridge was a bit too short for what I had in mind unfortunately. Image June 5 Public 0 1Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1.4 Well, this may be one of the sharpest vintage fast 50s wide open I have had the pleasure to shoot. It does have some....interesting flare, but overall I find the images quite nice so far. I'll need to shoot more to form a real opinion of it, but first impressions are good! Article Yesterday at Jun 1 crawl Public 0 2Someone finally went out to shoot with me Linked up with another vintage lens obsessed friend in Valpo for a few parks and to try the Nikon 55mm f3.5 macro lens, and another mamiya. The 35mm f2.8. The mamiya has a bit of a swirl to the bokeh just like the 58 f1.7 Article 5 days ago at Jun 1 crawl Public 0 0New lens. Well, it's not technically new in either sense of the word since I've had it for a few years, but couldn't really use it. I snagged a Nikor 50mm f2 from the 60s on a non functioning body for like 35 bucks on market place. Turns out it's a Sonnar. First impressions are pretty decent. It also seems to exhibit soap bubble bokeh, which is interesting. Article May 24 Public 0 0Konica Hexanon 40mm f1.8 This one has been kicking around awhile. I couldn't use it till I got the mirrorless, and it was in Indiana. I need to score more lenses in this mount now, oh, and some olympus Zuiko glass.
