Coming in 0.3.0 Free Edition: quest system Hello everyone! A few of you wanted more reasons to actually talk to the randomly generated NPCs, so I built a quest system for the next update. There will be a new "Anything you need help with?" line in conversation, and NPCs will hand you tasks on the spot: run an errand, dig up info on someone, do a favor for a friend, or settle a grudge. NPCs will have real opinions about each other, friends, enemies, seeded at world creation and drifting over time as their paths cross. So the grudge that lands in your lap actually comes from your town, not a script. Everything will be tracked in a new Quests tab on your phone, so you can juggle a few at once and turn them in for affection and money. Some 0.2.0 details that didn't make my last post. There's a new fixed NPC, Arnold, who runs a new library on main street. Books are bought there now instead of the mall, and the reading room upstairs gives an intelligence boost when you study. The hospital has a new maternity room. Pregnant NPCs visit it during free time so it doesn't sit empty. The nightclub is busier. Attendance is significantly tuned up, NPCs come more often and stay longer. NPCs now react if you walk in on them sleeping, or exercising, with dialogue varying by personality (shy/rude/polite/confident). More natural NPC routines.
