Bad Reputation is also my all-girl-revenge show that examines the co-optation of the “bad girl” image by the art and entertainment world. Long before the #Metoo movement, as a girl who was slandered and shunned, I created work about that experience that changes the narrative from victim to target. La Miseria, is part three of my autobiographical trilogy, which includes Based on a True Story and Invitation to the Beginning of the End of the World. La Miseria is the term the peasants of southern Italy use for hard luck. It is also part of the basic premise they are born, live and die under. The impassioned polemic is tempered by Arcade’s trademark warmth, down-to-earth style, outrageous comedy and an audience dance break!”
