The division was created on 17 June 1941 from elements of the elite and prestigious Guards units; the Grenadier Guards, The Coldstream Guards, The Irish Guards, The Welsh Guards, the Scots Guards and the Household Cavalry.
Naturally, the Guards Armoured division bring elegance to what would otherwise be an ugly brawl.
