I’m starting a new project that I’ve been thinking about for a while: America on Screen: 50 States, 50 Films. For the 250th anniversary of the United States, I want to analyze one film connected to each state. I’m interested in what films people associate with each state and why. What do those films say individually? And how do they work together to shape how the USA is imagined onscreen? That’s the larger question I’ll eventually bring to a long-form video, but each film will also get its own short-form analysis starting on July 4th.
