4 Article 3 days ago at May 25 crawl Behind the Scenes - Back at It I start this week post-Kickstarter rush, which really seemed to fly by this time. I'll admit, I'm... a little disappointed in myself? By no means did I rush this campaign, but I feel like I was less prepared than I should have been with regard to marketing it and maybe coming up with more interesting swag? Or doing more research in advance? Obviously, by no means am I disappointed with how the campaign went. We passed $15k, so I'm very happy. I think getting sick right at the end of it made the wrap-up a little anti-climactic. But I'm nearly on the other end of this cold and am ready to get started with the next fun Kickstarter part: FULFILLMENT! "But, Krista," you might be thinking, "weren't you back at it last week?" Yes and no. Last week, I focused on getting the Kickstarter up and running and on finishing a proofreading contract so I could afford to cover the rest of my table for ComicCon in September. Everything else got pushed to the wayside. This week, we're fully on edits, baby. I have ONE WEEK to finish my clean-up pass on Relic before it goes to my editor next week. I will also be starting beta edits on Co-Write Book 2, which will involve some big rewrites. Fingers crossed the focus gods are with me so I can do ALL THE THINGS without having to work evenings. I hit the big green button at 9am, and 7 minutes later, A Relic Cloaked in Thorns has funded. I am overwhelmed with emotion. Literally. I cried live on stream. This wouldn't have happened with my support, my community, so thank you so so so much. This Kickstarter is going to be amazing. I love the story, I love the art, and paired with the special edition of A Hunt Bound in Blood , it's just going to be beautiful. So for my first official full week back at work, I think it's off to a pretty great start. It does mean a lot of distraction over the next couple of days, so I'll end up having to work evenings to keep up with deadlines, but... worth it. I hope you have an amazing week!
