Article 3 days ago at Jun 24 crawl Public 0 0Bass for slap? Bass for slap? June 13 View post Do you know why I don't play slap on my channel? My Cort Junior bass is good for many lovely things, but not slap. I have another bass as well, a Gibson SG with flat-wound strings. That one is great for jazz, but again, not for slap. I really want an instrument for slap, but I never have those extra few hundred bucks. This Ibanez I saw in a shop today is just $399 NZD. Do you think I should fundraise for this one? Finally, I would add a bit of slap on my channel! I'm just not sure it's a good thing to ask for. I'm not like... dying without slap. It would just be another great colour to the music palette. I have a lot of things going on and to think about. I want to lie down and procrastinate, at least for the time of the band practice! And maybe for a couple more days. Locked Article May 23 $1 tier & up 1 1Mercy Mercy Mercy - solo I got a client who asked me to make up a short bass solo for the piece Mercy Mercy Mercy by Joe Zawinul. That wasn't a problem; however, I spent some time trying to position the camera so my hands would be there, but the hole on my knee wouldn't! I was too tired to go get changed for just one short video. At the end, I decided that, damn it, they wanted my play, not my nice look! 😂 Video May 22 Public 0 1Warming up piece This is a short excerpt from a piece we use for warming up in one of the teams I play with. That riff is quite simple, and I need to play it... oh gosh... about 75 times! I am not patient enough for such a challenge, and I sneakily vary it with some additional notes and slight rhythm variations. Article May 21 Public 0 1
