The “crawfish boil” is one of our marquee culinary rituals. In fact, boils are the premier food event that debuts after the Mardi Gras season ends and we stop eating King Cakes (more on those here). Crawfish boils are common for a Super Bowl gathering or an Easter brunch, and are a mainstay for Mother’s Day and especially Father’s Day celebrations. The backyard boil is a revered custom that can gather friends and family, organizations, teammates, or colleagues, and crawfish are also essential for restaurants that feature local gastronomy.
