This is going to be a rather tedious task as there's a ton of stuff to set, not to mention eventually test it... Article June 1 $3 tier & up 0 0View 0 comments For the sizes above 24, which are exclusive to act, chapter, and place name content, the text is broken up into pieces to reduce spritesheet space while allowing for as many sizes as possible (as per the 3D fall-in-place effect used with titles and place names). Doing this also meant I learned something with C programming that I didn't know you could do... Article May 30 $3 tier & up 0 0View 0 comments There are several sets of font data to set: kerning, whole-size general parameters, per-size and per-character parameters, the piece origination parameters, and the piece drawing parameters. There's a ton of data to set. At least it goes fairly fast if I set it up right and the color coding I set with the master spritesheet helps a lot with organizing all the pieces. I also worked out the timing for the 3D fall-in-place effect used with act/chapter/quest titles and place names... Article May 22 $3 tier & up 0 0View 0 comments That took a lot of effort, but with finding one optimization after another to squeeze out as much space as possible so I can get as many font sizes as possible for the 3D fall in place effect, I was able to step up to 4.5x instead of the original 4x, which does look slightly better. I got most of the way through with the 4x, but was realizing I wasn't going to have the space for it. I figured out a method to determine how much space I had. Overall, I had, at most, 42,329 pixels available...
