At first I had different tiers with different rewards - bonus blog posts, bonus podcast episodes, inside looks at upcoming book excerpts, a book club where I mailed you one of my favorite books every quarter, Discord communities - all the things.BUT.Then one day one of my Patreon friends who has been with me since day 1 said, “I see what you’re doing and I applaud you, but most people aren’t supporting you to get something - they’re supporitng you because of what they’re already getting from you. I don’t have time for more podcasts, more blog posts, more books - I can’t keep up with the content as it is. I’m just giving because I believe in what you’re doing. I don’t give to a church anymore and so I give to you instead because you’re helping me in my spiritual journey.”And that was a huge relief, honestly. The work I put into the What If Project is more than I put into any of my other jobs/gigs/etc. and it makes the least amount of money - BUT it gives me the most joy, and so I keep going.
