My favorite aspect of this tune is how free the melodies sound and feel throughout the piece. It’s like Koji Kondo just noodled on a keyboard and left it as is. I wanted to keep that same feeling with my take on this, so I used unusual and uncommon rhythms to achieve this effect. I also changed up the structure of this by leaving all the koto parts at the start, then my own erhu solo, followed by all the flute melodies. Both of these games were so much fun, and I loved its soundtrack! Eagle is one of my favorite characters, and his theme was one that stuck out to me.
