Image Latest postPublicReview: PC port of GMT Games' Saratoga

I posted a brief review of the PC port of GMT Games' Saratoga, the first in their Battles of the American Revolution series of hex-and-counter board wargames, now available on Steam. TLDR (although it's hardly TL): It's faithful to the original, and it works. AI opponent not as smart as it should be, though perhaps the problem is that I've played the system quite a lot already and understand how it works.

The Existential Elf: Reviewing "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End"Over on my Substack blog, I marked the debut of Season 2 of "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" with a review of Season 1 and some thoughts about how anime and manga have made use of use of Western fantasy, but in ways that often seem to be filtered through Dungeons & Dragons and other fantasy roleplaying games.ArticleJanuary 20Public 0 0Dune: Imperium — a reviewPosted a review of Dire Wolfe's Dune: Imperium, both the boardgame and their digital port of their boardgame, to my Substack. What does that mean for Ramen Sandwich Press? It makes sense of our recent past and makes the future cloudy.ImageFeb 7, 2025Public 0 0Gaming while assailed by all four elementsNews and notes from a time of air and fire, water and earth.
