Our chickens are our friends and help eat fleas, ticks and other critters we'd rather not have on our doggie friends! They also nab small snakes! (Yep, chickens are not vegetarians!)
$10/moRuminant RaverAll of the sheep at EquiSol are bottle babies who came here after losing their Birth Moms. We've successfuly raised three and are open to making a home for others who may need special care. The goats needed a forever home and we are always happy to have more shrub clearers! These caprine and ovine friends are fairly low-maintenance but they do require monthly feed to supplement their diet
$20/moDonkey DivasLuna and Diego came to us from Habitat for Horses. They were long-timers there and a bonded pair. When we adopted them, their names were Uno and Dos! One and Two just didn't honor the magic of these donkeys so I changed their names to reflect their personalities. They are often called "Jerusalem donkeys" because they have a cross on their backs, honoring the legend that on the back of the donkey that carried The Christ into Jerusalem was cast a shadow of the Cross as he died and the Donkey stood by to hold space.
Luna is Keeper of the Heart Chakra and will sit and hold space with clients for as long as they need to process. Diego "holds space" for Luna and is never far away from the love of his life.
Our newest addition is JasperJack. I'm not sure what kind of donkey he is but he thinks he is a dog!

$100/moFeed FairiesWe have three Elders in our Teaching Herd; Cinnamon, a Quarter Horse who is 32; Ali, an Off The Track Thoroughbred who is 28; and Samara, a Paso/Morgan cross who is 23.
Ali and Cinnamon alone eat 12 bags of grain each week. He and Cinnamon get 18 pounds of grain PER DAY! They both have very little teeth left and they get a mash two times daily that they can get done and keep weight on them. People always comment about how great Ali looks! He does! But we feed him tons of groceries to keep him looking and feeling great!
Samara is now in her 20's and starting to require more feed to keep her sassy and in charge of the Herd.
$250/moWellness WitchesAs you can imagine, the medical care for 36 animals can get crazy! I do my best to feed the best food I can afford and to do my own natural and holistic preventative care so I don't need to call the vet weekly! But stuff happens and there is also regular maintenance that needs to happen to get teeth and feet taken care of.
We trim all 7 of our horse's hooves every month and that's $420/month! These contributions will go toward maintenance of most of The Herd
$500/moSpecial Needs SorcerersWe have two special needs ponies at EquiSol. Tucker Sitters, a Welsh pony cross who foundered 5 years ago. We have been able to keep him moving by purchasing special feed; purchasing sand for him to stand on; buying medications to control his Cushing's disease; providing daily pain medications; and adding ulcer medication and gut support supplements to his diet. He is my miracle Warrior Pony and his medical costs alone are $500/month. Because he is in a large paddock alone and can only rarely go out into the pastures, he was getting lonely so we took on a miniature horse named Muneca who is completely blind. She does pretty well on her own but she also requires medication for her eyes on a regular basis.
