My 14 year old Andalusian gelding. I'm going to make a T-shirt that says, "I'm not crazy, I'm Andalusianal" ! (I have 6 Andalusians with two foals expected in the spring.)

Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus)Still surviving in Africa and Iran, the cheetah is the fastest land animal, capable of running at speeds up to 80mph! Sadly its populations are dwindling due to decreased habitat, competition from larger predators (lions) conflicts with humans due to livestock depredations, poaching cubs for the pet trade in the Middle East and disease due to genetic bottle necking. To help cheetahs, support the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia. cheetah.orgArticleJan 10, 2021Public 0 0African elephant (Loxodonta africana)If we can't save the worlds largest land mammal, how will we save ourselves?ArticleDec 16, 2020Public 0 0North American Gray Wolf (Canis lupus)Nov 1, 2020 View post Sorry I haven't posted in a while. When the weather's nice I'm out riding horses. We had our first snow of the season last week and the ground is too muddy to ride so I took the opportunity to start drawing again. I'm a little rusty but was inspired to draw this wolf because the Trump administration just removed wolves from the Endangered Species List in an attempt to gain more votes from hunters and ranchers. Shameful!!! How could anyone shoot a magnificent predator that looks like your pet dog? Even if they do take livestock occasionally, I believe ranchers can be reimbursed for their losses. There must be a way wolves and peoplArticleNov 1, 2020Public 0 0Daffodil in watercolorOur assignment in the Nature Drawing class was to draw a flower and use color. I chose this daffodil and used watercolor pencils for the first time ever. I like the medium because it allows me to be precise, as in a scientific illustration but also lets the piece be a little more free form like a watercolor painting. This one's a little sloppy (like the weather outside today) but overall, I'm ok with it as my first attempt. Thanks for hanging in there with me!Articletoday at Aug 19 crawlPublic 0 0Owl Butterfly (Caligo sp.)Another colored pencil drawing from Belize. This one was drawn at the Green Hills Butterfly Ranch where staff raise incredibly beautiful tropical butterflies for export to zoos and butterfly exhibits around the world. My favorite is actually the Blue morpho but they would not hold still long enough for me draw them. Only this owl butterfly cooperated by being my model.ArticleApr 2, 2019Public 0 0Heliconia sp.The lobster claw flower drawn from a wild specimen in the jungles of Belize near Cayo. There are four of these unusual fishes at the ABQ BioPark Aquarium and this is one of them. Sea dragons are found in temperate waters around Australia and are well camouflaged for their habitats of seaweed forests.ArticleMar 11, 2019Public 0 2Chain drawingSomething I drew this week for a friend who designed a safety dog collar.
