Also important were the people in that meeting. Legends like Bobby Watson, good friend of mine and very talented bassist and producer Dominique Sanders, Gerald Dunn of the Blue Room and many more were in this meeting all surround none other than Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver II. After I ordered my smoothie and sat down I, of course, had to overhear what they were talking about. I couldn't really hear it all because the ambient noise of the cafe but I could tell it was about the Jazz District and I also noticed that everyone in the meeting were jazz players.
