Greetings to all our loyal patrons! Thank you so very much for your continued and staunch support of us. Times have been a bit difficult in Uganda with inflation, stockists going into administration and slowing tourism, but we are working hard and staying the course. We wanted to share a lovely feature done about us for International Women's Day this year by an organisation called NordlanderView. Feel free to share!

It was a highly successful training and we are now actively working on getting the new team up and running starting with soapmaking, sewing and weaving. Here are just ten of those women who we are looking to provide on-the-job training for now so please share with family, friends and colleagues and invite them to also join us here as patrons. We thank you immensely for the continued support.ArticleOct 31, 2022Public 0 0We've Done It!Mar 1, 2022 View post Our products are now live on the Traidcraft website in the UK. Since Christmas, we have been working hard on an initial order from this fair trade pioneering company. This is a major accomplishment for us and we feel honoured to be working with them. This also gives those of us affected by Albinism the opportunity to show just how capable we are and that we can compete in the global marketplace. We delivered everything to them at the beginning of February so go place your orders and share - https://www.traidcraftshop.co.uk/search/?q=Mama%20mzungu#. We are taking Mama Mzungu to one of our neighbouring countries and we are looking for people to invest in this new team of women with us. Click on the above link to a GoFundMe campaign that we launched last week. Alternatively, there is also a Facebook fundraiser running at the same time that you can find here - https://www.facebook.com/donate/194640549510094/. So far, we have collectively raised around £630. You can also help us get new patrons here as well as that will also go towards on-the-job training to new women who come onboard whether iArticleNov 22, 2021Public 0 0Ugandan Hospitality Industry and Stockists!View post It's a new month and we realise we have been a bit quiet here lately. Another lockdown in Uganda has had us headsdown working very hard to persevere and get through a rough patch. But things are starting to ease again here finally and with that comes a surge in repeat and new orders from hotels and lodges across Uganda who stock our products. Namely guest soaps for hotel accommodation but also other products across the Mama Mzungu range for their associated gift shops and natural/organic food stores. We also have a new stockist at The Equator, a popular stop for tourists on their trips across our country to our national parks. So with your continued patronage and support for our 1Article10d agoPublic 0 0Introducing SofiaView post We have recently been made aware of Sofia. She lives very close to our women's shelter and soap factory. She is 22 years old, has a 3 year old daughter named Shalom and the two of them live with Sofia's mother within walking distance. People have told her of our presence but she has hesitated to trust them because sometimes people have ulterior motives or malintentions when it comes to persons with Albinism. But someone finally brought her to us in the last couple of weeks. We would love to create a job for her within Mama Mzungu and sense of community for her and her family. And this is precisely what our Patreon campaign aims to achieve...to create on-the-job training and opportArticle10d agoPublic 0 0Busy Month!Jun 29, 2021ArticleJun 29, 2021Public 0 0Farmer's Market...May 29, 2021 View post We have been invited to participate in a Farmer's Market at one of Kampala's nicest hotels. Every Saturday, we're selling our products along with other artisans at Aquarius Kigo Resort. A good way to grow our brand, get people to try our soap, tell people about our vision of job creation for women affected by Albinism and to network. We're having fun! And don't our new banner and Mama Mzungu t-shirts look great? The local demand for our soap and other products is growing weekly and we will soon need to bring more women onboard and get them started with on-the-job training in soapmaking, sewing and weaving. So your patronage is vital and so appreciatArticleMay 29, 2021Public 0 0Community OutreachWhile busy with our growing business, our NGO, Women and Children with Albinism in Uganda, is also out in the community providing sunscreen, food parcels, sensitation and educational outreach, clothes, medicines and support to new and single mothers. We are able to do this through individual donations we receive from around the globe and largely in part through support from Fondazione Cariello Corbino in Italy. It is vital work and we are happy to be able to do it ❤️ImageMay 18, 2021Public 0 0
