$25/moRoo The Queen of all SpecialsRoo was our first ever special needs dog who came to us paralyzed with her 2 legs nonfunctional. Back in the day I was still naive & learning a lot about how to take care of special needs dogs & decided to amputate both her back legs. She lives happily at WenAven now & has adjusted to her life even if she's extremely quirky & spirited at times towards her other special friends. Since Roo, I have learned so much about how to care for special needs dogs & have now become an expert in this field, the only one in Bali. I'm forever grateful to her because she started the dream I always had & together we have saved so many lives.

$25/moRayne Our Second Quirky Little GirlRayne was rescued after Roo, our Queen & they both became very close friends quickly. After Roo's double amputation & gaining more knowledge & experience, it's never my intention to amputate any limbs unless a thousand percent is necessary. Rayne is a quirky little girl with a very mischievous streak to her that often times can start little squabbles, but we wouldn't have her any other way!!

Dora also has a quirky little eye that's smaller than her other eye, but she doesn't let any of this stand in her way of being mischievous. She's our resident cheeky monkey girl & actively runs around trying to create havoc amongst the pack. We wouldn't have her any other way either!

$25/moSachi One of Our Senior MadamsSachi's transformation & story is amazing. She was rescued by another large foundation in Bali & was deemed too aggressive & plans were in place for her to be euthanized however, a local lady "stole" Sachi out from a clinic & then raised awareness about her on social media. I came across her & knew I would be the only one on the whole island who has the experience & who would & could dedicate time to this wonderful dog to transform her into the beautiful old lady she is today.

$25/moChopper - Our Grumpy Soldier at WenAvenChopper was rescued with both his back legs severely deformed & only walking on his front legs. His owners didn't want to surrender him at first & it took a lot of convincing but we won & 3 years ago, he's had operations to correct his legs & while they're not perfect, he can walk & get around. Unfortunately, in some cases, we couldn't perform surgery on his personality (you can take the dog off the street but not the street out of a dog). Chopper can be a terror. He once bit the vet & the vet passed out while giving a vaccination. He's moody & he lets it be known to everyone both humans & dogs, who's the boss! Doesn't matter, we love him just the way he is & are super happy to be able to give a beautiful life at WenAven.

He's always a happy, cheeky, jumping, playful little boy with a big smile on his face at all times. He does get a little cheeky at times though because he has his little clique that he follows around & if they manage to find trouble, well so does he! Timi has now been with us for over 3 years & has really settled into WenAven our special needs sanctuary.

The universe tried in many different ways to claim him however, he had me with him 24/7 until he miraculously survived everything that was thrown at him. He is indeed a warrior. $25/moAjax - Our Miracle DogAjax came to me in 2021 100% paralyzed in both his back legs. He was given 0% chance of making any recovery & yet through loads of physiotherapy, acupuncture, water therapy & love, he now walks at 95% recovery. And the miracle is, as each year passes, he gets better & stronger. Ajax can be quite the quirky little fellow, but we love him just the way he is!

$25/moBobby - Special Needs Blind DogBobby was brutally beaten into a coma for 3 days & as a result is completely blind & missing a few teeth. It was really touch & go in his first 3 days requiring oxygen but there was something I saw that stopped me from letting him go. I could see he was a fighter even though he is gentle & super calm. He accepted his treatments & rehab so graciously & his trust in humans was simply astounding considering what had happened to him. Bobby now lives a happy life with me, has adapted to his blindless as if he's a dog that can see. His level of smarts is amazing & he even though he had 2 potential adopters that fell through, he still calmly waits for his furever home. I am determined to find this home for him whether it be in Bali or overseas. He's super low maintenance & just a love bug.

$25/moMomo - The Mini LabMomo our mini–Lab is a main character at our special needs sanctuary - WenAven. He can often be misunderstood as being the troublemaker when actually, he's the Equalizer. By equalizer I mean he's the one that sorts out the puppers who are behaving negatively. In doing that though, he then makes the focused puppers paranoid & we have to step in then & become the overall equalizers! He's the fastest boy in his wheels & would win any race hands down. We love & adore our Momo as misunderstood as he often can be. Luckily, he has me who understands him 100%.

$25/moTrixie Our Special Sensitive GirlTrixie met with an unfortunate accident when she was a puppy. We'll never truly know what happened to her, but luckily someone contacted me to help her. Her leg was very badly fractured & she sustained nerve damage. Trixie now lives happily at WenAven as a partially special girl who loves being around her 4-legged friends & humans.

Unfortunately, she was involved in a hit n run & left on the streets & a kind local man picked her up & tried to care for her himself but realized he was beyond his experiences. Initially he contacted me to discuss a wheelchair, but I offered to take Inky over & thank goodness I did because she has now recovered 90% to a normal pupper now! Inky is our very own Disney princess full of cheeky drama & often times gets herself into trouble. She requires, no demands a lot of TLC & TLC we give to keep her extremely happy so that she doesn't become insecure & acts out. Inky is our quirky little girl that is full of character & we love her just the way she is.

$25/moFuji - Our Warrior Twitchy BoyFuji is a strong survivor of Distemper however has a severe twitch on the left side of his body. We're currently treating Fuji holistically with acupuncture included every week. His spirit is strong & we're seeing improvements over time.

$25/moToby - Our Special Needs HeroAfter months of treatment & rehabilitation, Toby is a warrior dog rescue story that needs to go viral to encourage anyone else who has a special needs dog to keep going. If he hadn't been accepted by BRDS he would have been left on the street or euthanized. He was a dog that could have been easily misunderstood with a fractured spine causing paralysis in both is back legs along with a fractured hip & spine. He was emotionally & mentally shut down beyond any dog I've ever encountered. With love, care, rehab, persistence & belief, Toby no longer requires a wheelchair & is functioning as a normal dog except for a limp with his back left leg due to it healing before rescue & being slightly longer than his right leg. He is a strong, beautiful champion dog.

$25/moPippa Our Fun Beagle Old LadyPippa was rescued 3 years ago & was doing wonderfully well in her new home, until she wasn't. Pippa has cancer & even this time, although the huge lump was removed from the top of her neck, new little cancer lumps have appeared. At this point, Pippa is back home with me under my direct care & I'll monitor her on holistic medications & ensure she lives a good life. I'm not sure when her time will come, she's still as young & spritely as ever as all Beagles are. Your support will really help Pippa to thrive.

Now, Buttons has been transferred across to us & he is living his absolute best life. He has the cheekiest and most active personality of the entire special squad now & raises mayhem for the others, but it's all fun & games & full of laughs. We think Buttons is a positive addition to the squad & look forward to taking care of him for many years to come.

He then found himself locked up & left untreated until we came a long & helped him gain weight as well as walk again.

Naturally we nursed him back to health again. Cole actually went for an adoption drive however it ended up being too complicated. We think he's a big, sweet & beautiful boy however, he just doesn't fit the adoption criteria adopters are looking for so we promised to take care of him forever!
