£3/moSponsor a Dog - ChelseaChelsea is a 15 year old Jack Russell x Chihuahua. He arrived with us at a year old due to being too aggressive for his previous family to manage. He was just very misunderstood and is much more mellow nowadays
£3/moSponsor a Dog -ArthurArthur is a 15 year old Patterdale x Jack Russell. He arrived with us after friends of ours realised they couldn’t cope with him. He’s the resident escape artist, if there’s a way out of the house or garden then he’ll find it
£3/moSponsor a Dog - BoBo came to us as a 4 month old puppy after his foster could no longer care for him and his planned home fell through. He has sight issues and can only see shapes and shadows until he is really close to things. Sometimes it feels like he’s really invading your personal space but he’s just getting close enough to see you
£3/moSponsor a Dog - BellaBella is a 7 year old Dogue de Bordeaux. She arrived with us at 8 months of age after being dumped in a pet store with elbow and hip dysplasia. We have been on a long journey with this girl and she has had numerous operations on her elbows as well as physio and hydrotherapy to manage her conditions. Unfortunately arthritis hinders her now but she’s still just a gentle giant
£3/moSponsor a Dog - CharlieCharlie is an 8 year old Jack Russell. He arrived with us at 10 months of age because he was obsessed with chasing his mums shadow and it was causing everyone a lot of distress. He is completely deaf and the vets believed the shadow chasing was neurological and would never be stopped. They advised euthanasia but we stepped in to stop that and to give him a chance. Thankfully we did because he can have his crazy moments where he becomes obsessed with the licking things or barking but mostly he’s just a very happy, loving little lad
£3/moSponsor a Dog - PaddyPaddy is an 5 year old Jack Russell. He arrived with us at 10 months of age. A friend had stepped in to stop him being put to sleep after he bit one of the children in his family. She then rang and asked me to take him. He’s a complete nutter and a total Jekyll and Hyde character. He’ll be cuddling up with the other dogs one minute and telling them off the next. But he’s such a loving boy
£3/moSponsor a Dog - BuddyBuddy arrived with us in 2014 after his previous family couldn’t cope with him. He had major issues with his stomach and couldn’t keep weight on and they also couldn’t manage his behaviours. He was terrorising their other dog and jumping out of open windows. So the rescue took him back and sent him here. He has unfortunately developed an autoimmune disorder which causes ulcers to develop in his nostrils but he’s still the happiest boy ever and loves nothing more than a back scratch
£3/moSponsor a Dog - PoppyPoppy arrived with us back in 2018 after she was rescued from the streets of Romania. She loves all of the home comforts of the bed and the sofa. Constantly wants a fuss and will tell you off if she doesn’t get it. But she also can’t be trusted off of a lead. She just takes off and does her own thing like she’s still a street dog. She also can’t go for a walk after dusk because she constantly tries to pull you into bushes to find somewhere to bed down for the night.
£3/moSponsor a Dog - FrankFrank was rescued from a kill shelter in Romania. When he arrived it was obvious he’d been abused because he was so nervous. Now he rules the roost. He’s the smallest dog with the biggest voice and nobody ignores him. He demands respect from the pack
£3/moSponsor a Dog - DaveDave came to us after we were tagged in a post asking for an urgent foster. He was in a bad way. Half the weight he should have been, prostate problems, sever skin and ear infections, a flea infestation and allergies driving him crazy. It didn’t take us long to get him healthy though. His allergies still flare up occasionally but on the whole he’s fit and healthy
£3/moSponsor a Dog - LolaLola came to us at around 6 months of age. She had been rehomed off of the Pets 4 Homes site but was causing issues in the new home and needed to be collected before she was out to sleep. This is really one of those times when I can’t understand why there was a problem because she has never displayed the destructive behaviours she apparently had since being here but she does like the sound of her own voice and does like to nibble on a hand or two
£3/moSponsor a Dog - BrianBrian arrived with us in 2015 after being brought over from Romania. He was so traumatised by his start in life that he wouldn’t let anyone hear him in the kennels and it was decided that he would stand a better chance at rehabilitation in a home environment. He had plastic tags in his ears and the starts of a skin infection when he arrived and we couldn’t touch him so had to think of novel ways to help him. It took 8 long hard months but finally he started to trust us and come for a fuss
£3/moSponsor a Dog - EricEric arrived after I was tagged in a post about him on social media. He was 5 years old and had never left the confines of his home and garden. He wasn’t socialised and his aggression and the fact that he guarded his home like his life depended on it was making it impossible to find a rescue space. He was destined to be put to sleep. So I went to get him. I thought he deserved a chance. Thankfully I did because he’s the biggest snuggle bug around
£3/moSponsor a Dog - MollyMolly is a 14 year old Jack Russell. She had a tough start in life and somehow lost an ear flap in the process. She was left outside a pet store and was so aggressive we had to wear padded gloves to handle her. So of course she had to come home with me! It didn’t take her long to settle down and find her feet and she soon became my partners sidekick, going everywhere with him. She has now lost the sight in both of her eyes and relys on him to be her guide human. They really do have the cutest relationship
£3/moSponsor a Dog - JackJack arrived at just 7 months old. A rescue friend rang and asked me to take him after his 3rd foster was having issues with him. He was completely bonkers when he arrived. A complete Jack in the Box with a bit of defiance and a lot of fear aggression thrown in for good measure. But he soon turned into my best mate and I absolutely adore him and his quirky ways
£3/moSponsor a Dog -BertieBertie arrived with us a Week before his 1st birthday. He’d been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and his family had asked that he be put to sleep. The vet thought he deserved a chance to see if medication would help him but they didn’t want to go through all of that. So they agreed that if he could find Bertie a home then they would let him have the chance. We don’t know how long Bertie will live for and we have had a setback or two with his health in the time he’s been here. But watching him play with the other dogs and enjoy a snuggle on the sofa makes everything worth it
£3/moSponsor a Dog - BronsonWe were asked to take Bronson for a friend because his home situation was no longer suitable for him. He’s never really had any major issues but he does like to rip the seats out of sofas and doesn’t like being told what to do.He has a deformed bottomJaw which makes his tongue look huge and stops him from being able to chew on any chews or bones
