Posting this right now because I can hear a thunderstorm in the distance and I don't want to lose power without having uploaded this fella.

Pokemon #149 Mega Evolution RedesignI think it's probably a pretty noticeable part of Dragonite's design that they don't really share so many physical traits with their previous two stages. It feels almost like a tadpole-to-frog kind of situation. There might be meta reasons for this (i.e. different intentions for seperate Pokemon that eventually got joined together in an evolutionary line after they were designed) but the official design used Dragonite's mega evolution to sort of tie it back around to Dragonair.Image2 days ago at Aug 27 crawlPublic 0 0Pokemon #121 Mega Evolution RedesignI gave my original Starmie redesign an asymmetrical design with two of their points changing colour and one of their points curling around. I think at the time I kind of imagined those two points sort of being detatchable into some kind of blade or I was trying to invoke the shape of a kunai or throwing blade. A fun part of this whole process has been looking at my old stuff and being like "what was this guy doing all those years ago?".Image4 days ago at Aug 27 crawlPublic 0 0Pokemon #071 Mega Evolution RedesignWhile canon Mega Victreebel is a hoot, my Bellsprout line became very critter-like, so it followed that my redesign should also be some form of critter. I did stick to the idea of it getting larger and the vines growing longer, but just sort of applied them in different ways. I was going for more of a plant-dino-sort of thing.ArticleAugust 21Public 0 1Pokemon #036 Mega Evolution RedesignThis one was a lotta fun with all the colours mix matching with the wings and the diamonds and triangles and such. You can see the OG Clefable here -- but another big foundation for this one was my Mega Gengar redesign, since my Cleffa line and my Gastly line are a lot more overtly tied together. I used Mega Gengar as a basis of what I needed to do with Mega Clefable in terms of colours, shapes and such.ArticleAugust 19Public 0 0Pokemon #026 Mega Evolutions RedesignAugust 17 View post If you've followed my redesigns since the beginning then you'd know my Pikachu line is very scrungle. It was actually way more scrungle before I had to give it another passover but it still has a bit of a dopey-look I find. I was trying to make them more like jerboas and that sort of led them to have weird goofy legs. I've been dealing with the fallout of this decision for years, not that I hate my version but it definetly doesn't scream "the face that launched a $130 billion company", but hopefully I think I've been able to adapt somewhat whenever Pikachu inevitably returns. Thanks for looking and see yah soon!ArticleAugust 17Public 0 0September Art PollAugust 15PollAugust 15CAD 1 tier & up 0 0Pokemon #160 Mega Evolution RedesignAugust 15 View post So while not as overt as Meganium/Xerneas and Emboar/Yveltal, I did attempt to tie Mega Feraligatr to Zygarde, mainly with the patterning and some of the shapes of the body armor. So the original Mega Feraligatr has this whole thing where they're like, a big Totodile with this weird helmet over their back and I mainly took from that was to add some armor bits. I could have tried to incorporate more of that into this one but I couldn't find a solution in a timely manner aside from giving this Feraligatr an armored head. Never really messed around with the big Totodile aspect, but you can check out the redesigned Totodile line for the oArticleAugust 15Public 0 0Pokemon #500 Mega Evolution RedesignWhile not as overt as my Meganium and Xerneas connection, for Mega Emboar I tried to take some design influence from my Yveltal redesign. I'm hoping it at least gets across in how billowy and aggressive Emboar looks, both shape and colour-wise. At this point you can see each starter taking from each of the Kalos legendary trio so you can hazard a guess who Feraligatr will be taking off from. You can also check out the original Tepig line redesign to see the foundation this fella is built upon.ImageAugust 13Public 0 0Pokemon #154 Mega Evolution RedesignWe finally starting Pokemon redesigns wow wow wow!ImageAugust 11Public 0 1September Art Poll SuggestsAugust 10PollAugust 10CAD 1 tier & up 0 2Pokémon Legends: Z-AAugust 10 View post Redesigns start tomorrow.
