There were no historical records until Chinese farmers discovered them in 1992. There are numerous questions about these caves and no one has been able to answer. Who built the Longyou caves? What purpose did they serve? How did the builders achieve the super précised craftsmanship over 2000 years ago? The set up of these caves reveal an advanced engineering knowledge similar to today’s remote sensing technology.
