Last month, I was so honored to receive the Publish the Future Award from 826NYC, a youth writing organization I dearly love and have worked with on various projects over the years. They had a student introduce me, read some of my writing and then I read some of her terrifically hilarious work before giving the above speech. The event was so uplifting and the award was in the from of a giant pencil, currently sitting at my desk as I write. Took the opportunity of this speech to weave together some stories and thoughts that have been on my mind these past few months. Enjoy! Article May 30 Public 0 3"Stories are not neutral.
