$5/mo3D Renderings with ExplanationsAt this subscription tier, you'll receive detailed images and descriptions for the new designs. These include many pages of architectural illustrations. You'll get access to a year's worth of projects. These 3D renderings have footnotes that describe the intentions and ideas underlying each design. This is extremely helpful for learning how to make customizations. You can't build anything with these presentation views. They don't include dimensions-- as with architectural plans, which are available in higher tiers of support. (Supporters at higher tiers also receive these 3D renderings.)On each page, footnotes explain the design process. How do you make new houses based on the practical wisdom of the past? How do you re-create the same grace and charm as old homes? Come learn the secrets.
$8/moEarly Access to House PlansYou'll receive a PDF every month with the blueprints for a new house design. These architectural plans will also include the 3D renderings and detailed explanations. You can build a house with these plans. They may be intricate enough for you to receive a building permit. Site-specific changes are always necessary, but these plans are incredibly useful. These would usually cost $500-$5000.You'll get these designs up to a year before anybody else. (At that point, they may be finalized and made free for everyone.) Some of these designs will be experimental, and may only be available to you here on Patreon.Your support makes my next open-source designs possible, helping many people in many different ways. Thank you.
$15/moAll Design FilesEvery month, you'll receive a PDF for the blueprints of a new house, as well as digital files needed for making customizations. Also, you'll get the 3D renderings and footnotes, which are important for understanding how to make changes to the design.CAD files and digital models usually cost between $1,000-$10,000, but I'm making these open-source, which is extremely rare. I'm doing this because I want to see better architecture. I think guild-based knowledge-hoarding belongs in the Dark Ages. The files you receive (including SketchUp models) may just be first drafts, but they are much more refined (and easier to modify) than most thousand-dollar house plans. You'll get these designs up to a year before anybody else. At that point, most will be free and accessible to everybody. Many of the 2024 house designs will be experimental, and only available to you here.Your support makes my next projects possible, helping many people in many different ways. Thank you.
$100/moProject Mentorship & Building ResourcesYou'll receive all the files and benefits in the other tiers, as well as an hour of technical support or mentoring (via video chat, phone, in-person meeting, or sketches/models) for any house design. These hours accrue, so you may redeem them when you need them.I can do a lot for you in one hour. I can show you how to use SketchUp, or explain timeless architectural strategies and tactics related to your needs. I can sketch a floor plan for an addition or finished basement. If you let your hours accrue for a year, I can give you an entire 12 hours of my time-- enough for deep-dive meetings or complex digital modeling.I'm a designer, publisher, and master builder-- not a permission-beggar. I don't stamp drawings or navigate bureaucracies. Therefore, this work is not a professional "architectural service." Yet these open-source plan templates are more valuable than any gatekeeper will admit. It will typically cost you thousands of dollars for these architectural source materials.Additionally, you'll receive a new set of architectural plans every month in PDF form. You'll also get access to my archive of previous designs, as well as the digital files needed to customize them to your needs.Your support funds the creation of open-source designs that empower people everywhere. Thank you.
