There's a ton to learn from New York-based guitarist Bruce Arnold. Many of you may not heard of him. Even though he's one of the better players out there, he's a little bit under the radar, perhaps better known as a teacher.

A masterclass with Gilad Hekselmanhere is a special treat from last year's camp, a class with the great Gilad Hekselman. What strikes me is the remarkable empathy here. Each player is fully attuned to the other and phrases dovetail off each other. It's gentle, delicate, AND strong. I just played a gig with Gilad. What a master. Another one of those players who makes you sound better. A keen sense of melody, time and chops galore that he only moves towards when appropriate...ArticleMay 17$10 tier & up 0 0Join to unlock 4 Share Gift LockedNo public preview was captured for this post.Article4d ago$10 tier & up 0 4Gilad and Wolfgang Teaching: Camp 2025There 's a WHOLE Lot of Wisdom here, and some great playing. Out front they talk about "trust" in your playing partner, what that means. Well, a lot of it is mastering fundamentals, kowing tunes REALLY well. So well, that you never get lost and can sneak in some surprises when your partner is not looking...ImageApril 8$10 tier & up 0 0Kurt and Wolfgang 2024Enjoy these two masters playing Falling Grace on our opening night at the camp 2024. He's playing the Bill Evans song, Time Remembered. This is a beautiful song, well worth learning. Personally, I find a song like this easier to play than a bebop tune stuffed with 2/5/1's. Most of you may know that Ben will be at our summer camp this year. What an extraordinary player. If you haven't yet, check out this triple album he released a couple of years ago. There's nothing like it anywhere. I don't say that very often. https://benmonder.bandcamp.com/album/planetariumArticleMarch 25Public 0 0
