Ryenne was aware they were both under opposite curses, but it remained difficult to watch Harlow involuntarily freeze someone into a cuboid of ice and then run away, terrified with herself and her newfound power. Ryenne was finding it much easier to control hers: the small flames licked lazily at her unaffected fingers and she pressed them to the corner of the ice block furthest from the random passerby's outstretched arm, hoping to spare him the burn. By freeing him, she was giving Harlow time to escape. Catching up to her and calming her down would be her next priority. Article June 15 $1 tier & up 0 0Mishap Locked

The weather was still too cold for ice-cream, but the truck had a long queue regardless. By the time it was Bahar's turn, she had read the window sticker twice and was still no closer to deciding. "What do you recommend?" The vendor inside checked her inventory. "I don't know what you like, but you'd be doing me a favour by taking the last of these? I can dispose of this tub and free up some space." "I’ll take that, then, thanks." Bahar took the sprinkle-covered lolly and managed to not think about her next kill for five whole minutes. The crystal was light blue and translucent, with smooth sides and two pointy triangular ends. One face had a small hole, just large enough for the heavy pin she had found with it. Inside the crystal, she could see the various tracks the pin could travel along. She dropped the pin inside and rotated the crystal between her hands, listening for the faint clunk each time it hit a corner. Eventually she reached a dead end. Shaking the crystal caused its outer layer to crack and peel away. The key dropped out, leaving her with a smaller puzzle to solve. Article May 18 $1 tier & up 0 0Crowlike Locked

Near the top of one of the pillars in the throne room, a gecko was pacing. Below him, a vigorous sword fight was taking place. They had forgotten he was there. He'd been the queen's pet for just a few months, long enough to know these duels were usually for practice, to keep the queen's skills sharp. Not today. Her most trusted knight seemed furious and bloodthirsty, plaited golden hair spilling out from under her helmet. The gecko could not understand what they were saying, but he could tell something was seriously wrong from the desperate tension in the air. Article May 4 $1 tier & up 0 0
