Article Latest postPublicLyle Lovett - L.A. Freeway

I had the honor of getting to open a run of eight shows for Lyle Lovett in July. Lyle has always been one of my songwriting heroes and biggest influences, but as I’ve gotten to know (and become friends with) him the last four or five years he’s also become a hero and influence on a personal level. He’s one of the most thoughtful and generous people I’ve ever met, and it’s been inspiring and humbling to experience and witness those qualities in person.

Bob Schneider and I were “guests” on The Gil Webb show. We sat down to film with no script or guidelines and Bill (Gil) just started riffing. It was hilarious to me, and so impressive to watch someone be that funny on the spot. I wish I had gotten to spend more time with him while he was with us.ImageMay 5Public 0 4Stay Here Awhile - Backstage SessionsPlayed an acoustic version of "Stay Here Awhile" with The Gulf Coast Orchestra backstage at Ellis Theater in Philadelphia, MS.ArticleApril 6Public 0 3Ain't Enough of Me to Go Around w/ John EvansA long time ago, in a land called Houston, my buddy John Evans and I formed a band called The Ego Brothers. The idea was we would write only songs about how wonderful we thought we were. I’m Barry Ego, and John is Clive Ego. Years later our friend Corb Lund (Elton Ego) joined the band. This clip is Clive and Barry singing our first (and for many years only) song, “Ain’t Enough of Me To Go Around,” at my birthday bash in Nashville.ArticleApril 1Public 0 7New Full Band Tour DatesWe’ve added some full band shows to the Texas tour in June. I'll kick things off with my band for a couple nights at Gruene Hall and then do a run of acoustic shows for the rest of the tour. These are all venues I consider home and I'm looking forward to being back. I hope to see you out there.ArticleFebruary 10Public 0 4
