New video on X-ray experiments onlineThe public version of the new video was just placed online. A lot of minor changes / corrections and some visual improvements but nothing major. The preview will be taken offline soon. Thanks to those who supplied feedback. And of course thanks to all of you who supported the making this video. It inspired me to make an equally whacko video demonstrating exactly the opposite....VideoOct 8, 2025Public 0 0Short on Thomas Young's original experimentOct 7, 2025 View post I just made a short about the original experiment by Thomas Young as described in his 1801 lecture. The experiment is nowadays generally referred to as the "double slit" experment. However, Young neither used a double slit, nor monochromatic light. Instead, he placed a thin card in a beam of spatially coherent sunlight and observed a complex pattern of colored bands around the shade of the card. It was this observation that made him formulate his theory on the wave character of light and how color relates to wavelength.ArticleOct 7, 2025Public 0 3Video on adaptive optics now onlineThanks to those who supplied feedback based on the preview version. I've kept the audio track but made quite a few additions and changes in the images and text. I've decided to place the video online this evening because tomorrow I'm out most of the day and I did not want to delay the publication for another 24 hours.VideoOct 4, 2025Public 0 3Preview of the new video onlineOct 3, 2025VideoOct 3, 2025€3 tier & up 5 33 3 Share Gift LockedNo public preview was captured for this post.Article6d ago€3 tier & up 0 3
