This 8"x10" composition doesn't look like a battle. But, oh the wrestle that comes with saving a focal point. I covered up those luscious round red McIntosh or Romes over and over again. Distracting blooms and leaves kept finding their way atop the fruit. For me, this image is a success for two reasons. 1. The glue and scissoring is improved, cleaner, less apparent. 2. The apples found the spotlight. I had to keep clearing out my visual clutter to expose the characteristic curves and feature the main character. Some days, you just have to fight for the apple.ArticleJan 30, 2020Public 0 0The One with the GrapesIn which I explain why the collage is named "Grapes" even though not one grape is visible.
