May 11, 2021 View post So, Covid destroyed my creativity, and then Patreon unlaunched my page. But its back up now. And in the last week, I've started working on a new larp, currently titled "Stolen Crown" (I am not happy with this name; any suggestions?). Inspired by the Wars of the Roses, Game of Thrones and the tabletop rpg Rebel Crown, its meant to be a tight little game about how far someone is willing to go to take back what's theirs (and a bunch of other stuff besides). Because people seemed to want it, I started a design diary on Diatribe to document the process. So far I have a blurb, player guide, and two of nine characters done to first-draft stage. An

It might run at Hydra 2020.ArticleNov 15, 2019Public 0 1Update and letterlarp rulesSo, what's happening? Property and Propriety had a successful first run at Hydra last weekend, which helped me identify the inevitable inconsistencies. I took notes during the playtest, and its next on the list of things to polish up and release to you. Though given that I have people who missed out demanding a second run, I'm wondering whether to release it after its had another round of playtesting.Article4d agoPublic 0 0Spellbound! in print"Spellbound!" is now available in print. Firstly, you should be getting your first larp from Catnip - Spellbound, a comedy inspired by Mad Men, Bewitched, and I Dream of Jeanie - sometime in February. Its getting a second Wellington run in a month, after which I can proof read and edit it for her.ArticleJan 7, 2019Public 0 0Research: Life in the RegencyNov 24, 2018 View post I'm chewing hard on "Property & Propriety" at the moment, and on the spur of the moment I decided to acquire some more research material. Its a bit out of period ("Property & Propriety" is set in June 1803), but still useful for getting the general vibe and avoiding obvious mistakes. I actually read this a long time ago - Catnip borrowed a copy when writing "Betrothals & Betrayals" I think. But its nice to have it on the shelf in case I need it, especially as I expect to be doing at least one more Regency larp in future.ArticleNov 24, 2018Public 0 0NaLaWriMo 2018Nov 5, 2018ArticleNov 5, 2018Public 0 0Expansion?An important question: most of you know Catnip, who also writes larps (and better ones than mine :). Catnip has thought about setting up her own Patreon, but doesn't want the hassle of managing it, so was thinking of clubbing together here. The question is, are you happy with this?ArticleJul 22, 2018Public 0 5Longmuir HallApr 23, 2018ArticleApr 23, 2018$1 tier & up 0 0
