I have mostly learned that I don’t like any of the pumpkin spice flavored things that are offered this time of year. It sank in 1916, and rests in just 10' of water. Some days the visibility is better than others, but in such shallow water, the view is always good enough. Yesterday was a real highlight - we took the kids to snorkel a shipwreck in the Elk River (photos/video of the wreck coming soon). Aside from being a cool thing to do, it’s so gratifying to note their improved swimming skills. At the beginning of the season, they could kind of doggy paddle. Yesterday they swam in open water well over their heads with fins and snorkels and explored a shipwreck. April is early for mushroom hunting Up North, but maybe not this year. April is generally a month of wishing the ice would clear off the trails already. It feels like we didn’t get enough snow this winter - and definitely not enough snow pack - to create those typical icy conditions.
